As jockey A Butler was not riding at today’s meeting due to injury, he was replaced as per steward’s summary.
 
Race 1: Sky Racing Benchmark 69 H’cap – 1200m
 
HARVEST PRIDE – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI WRANGLER – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages. When questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance, rider N. Day was at a loss to explain the performance, adding that the horse travelled strongly in the middle stages, however failed to let down when placed under pressure in the straight and was disappointing. Trainer J. McConachy advised stewards he was disappointed with the gelding’s performance today as the horse had pleased him leading up to today’s event, and should anything come to his attention in the upcoming days that may have had a bearing on the horse’s performance he would advise the stewards.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

MISHANI REDMAN – Began awkwardly.
 
KIRABO – Threw its head in the air on jumping.
POLAR BLAST – Over-raced in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MEDIA VITA – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
WINDMILL LANE – Blundered near the 700m for no apparent reason. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild hoof soreness in the front due to blacksmithing issues.  
 
Race 3: Hygain Class 2 Plate – 1000m
 
RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Slow to begin.
 
GENERAL SHORT – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DOUBLE DENMAN – Laid in leaving the 300m, forcing another runner inwards.
 
MICAWBER – Forced inwards by another runner leaving the 300m, crowding another runner to its inside. Shifted out leaving the 100m, hampering another runner. Rider P. Cullen was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
INSOLVENT – Steadied leaving the 300m, and again near the 100m when crowded for room.
 
JUZOU – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
Race 4: Canadian Club Maiden H’cap – 1400m
 
ELITE LABEL – Slow to begin.
 
DISTRACTED – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 700m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
GETOUT OF MY NEIGH – Scrambled on jumping and lost ground.
 
TRIGGER – Shifted in slightly under pressure approaching the 100m, causing another runner to be restrained. Rider C. Whiteley, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
ARITOMO – Raced greenly rounding the home turn. Restrained when crowded for room approaching the 100m.
 
EROE – Raced wide in the early stages. Held up for clear running from the 300m until leaving the 200m.
 
JUST UNREEL – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
LEGAL LOOPHOLE – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SPACEX – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: Carlton & United Breweries Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1400m
 
Correct weight was delayed when the rider of the second horse, N. Day, wished to view the stewards’ film to ascertain if he had grounds for an objection against the winner, alleging interference near the 300m. After viewing the film he declined to proceed and correct weight was given on the Judge’s numbers.
 
FERINGO – Slow to begin.
 
LET’S GO TO RIO – Commenced to over-race when crossed by another runner leaving the 1100m, having to be restrained from heels near the 1000m.
 
PURE HAWK – Bumped twice heavily near the 300m, becoming unbalanced.
 
PURE REBEL – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300m, twice bumping heavily with another runner and becoming unbalanced. Rider N. Day, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 6: TAB Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1200m
 
DRAGON PINS – Slow to begin.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LIEUTENANT DAN – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner. Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
DIAMOND COUNTRY – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
GOULDIAN – Slow to begin.
