Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer S. Royes for the late declaration of riders on her mounts today. Race 1: Carlton & United Breweries Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1400mSALESMAN – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1000m. RECALCULATE – Finished tailed off. Stewards advised trainer G. Tipping that the horse’s nomination would be refused at provincial and TAB meetings until it shows more consistent form by way of country meetings. IT AND A BIT – Lost ground leaving the 500m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a breathing abnormality. Trainer G. Hughes advised stewards he would now consider sending the horse for a throat operation or be retired from racing. Mr Hughes was advised the horse would not be permitted to race until documentation provided of corrective surgery.Race 2: Brown Brothers Maiden Plate – 1300mFLASH FOX – Declared a late scratching at 12pm when no rider was available.WAKOOL – Jockey S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 229 (1) (a) in that he knowingly deceived the Clerk of Scales when falsely declaring a weight of 56.8kg to make the allotted weight 56.5kg until challenged by a steward to re-weigh and was then found to be 1½ kilograms over his allotted weight. Stewards suspended the licence of S. Sheargold to ride in races for a period of 1 calendar month, to commence at midnight 16 November 2019 and to expire at midnight 16 December 2019. Jockey Sheargold was advised of his appeal rights. Further to that, jockey S. Sheargold, was permitted to ride the mare 1½ kilograms over its allotted weight when no other rider was available. This was broadcast via media outlets. Mr Sheargold was also advised he was not to accept rides under 56kg until he was able to display a consistent riding weight. MOSEF – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously approaching and leaving the 1000m. Trainer M. Geaney was advised that a waring would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. OH JAY MOWMOW – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race. DEEJAYBEAT – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. KEYS TO THE CITY – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages, hampering another runner. Rider F. Edwards was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances and make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight when shifting ground. ELITE LABEL – Hampered approaching the winning post by another runner which shifted out under pressure. TIMELESS GREY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: Catch You At Cluden QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1200mORIENTAL GIRL – Began awkwardly and shifted out, and when being corrected threw its head in the air and lost ground. DEVINE MELODY – Had a tendency to over-race in the early stages. MALVAGIO – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. LOVE IS BLIND – Shifted wider leaving the 850m to improve and race wide from that point onwards. Race 4: TAB – Download The App Class 6 Plate – 1200mJET’S CRACKER – Slow to begin. SUGAR RAY RED – Slow to begin. IMAGINEALLTHEPEOPLE – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result raced wide for the majority of the race. ALL THINGS IN TIME – Began awkwardly. DISTRICT – Over-raced in the early stages.KENTUCKY FLYER – Shifted in bumping another runner near the 600m. Laid in near the 350m bumped with another runner. DALON – Bumped by another runner which shifted in near the 600m. Laid out bumping with another runner and blundered near the 350m. When questioned into its performance, stable representative Mr Ian Coleman advised stewards that he was not overly disappointed with the gelding’s performance today as it was its first start from a spell and the horse had not trialled leading up to today’s event, although the stable was confident with the horse’s condition and he was also of the opinion that the gelding would benefit by today’s outing.Race 5: Canadian Club Ratings Band 0-60 H’cap – 1400mNEWSTEAD – Slow to begin. THE GROOM – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages and shifted in, brushing another runner on a number of occasions approaching the 1050m. Raced wide for the majority of the race. DISTRACTED – Over-raced in the early stages and shifted out, brushing with another runner on a number of occasions approaching the 1050m. HONEST NATALIE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running entering the home straight and until leaving the 200m. SOLUMINATE – Rider C. Jokic reported the horse failed to respond to her riding when placed under pressure in the home straight, and for this reason she did not place the horse under any further pressure. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Rac 6: Sky Racing Class 1 H’cap – 1000mNO HAT NO PLAY – Declared a late scratching at 2.05 pm when no suitable rider was available. PLEATED MISS – N. Nelson replaced the indisposed R. Shred when no other apprentice was available. Hung in near the 800m, tightening a runner to its inside. YOU’RE IN MY HEART – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner. Then shifted in, bumping a runner to its inside. HI ZERO – Bumped by another runner on jumping. WYCH MAGIC – Bumped by another runner on jumping.ANGRY DESERT – Raced ungenerously soon after the start and shifted out abruptly near the 900m despite the efforts of its rider, causing another runner to clip its heels. Raced wide for the majority of the race. FAIRMONT – Shifted in slightly near the 900m, tightening another runner, which blundered when clipping heels. Bumped by another runner near the 800m. Raced wide for the majority of the race. LE BEAU RENARD – Tightened for room near the 900m by a runner which shifted out and away from another runner, clipped heels and blundered losing ground. ALL ZED AND DONE – Bumped by another runner near the 800m, which shifted in. DOUBLED DENMAN – Shifted out abruptly near the 200m to obtain clear running.
