Of concern to stewards was whether there was an opportunity for her to restrain shortly after the start to a trailing position closer to the rail. Apprentice Brooker agreed with the stewards that in the early stages it would have been more advantageous to restrain to a position close to the rail and felt she erred by continuing to ride the horse along in the manner in which she did. Stewards, in considering the matter, agreed with apprentice Brooker that she erred in the early stages of the race, however did not feel the ride fell below the required standard and took the matter no further other than to advise apprentice Brooker that as an apprentice with her experience she would be expected to show greater judgment than she did on this occasion.THE A LISTER – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
