The horse raced in a rearward position.KINGFISHER BAY – Hampered at the start. STELLAR KNIGHT – Hampered at the start. Held up from the 500m until rounding the home turn. JENNIFER JUNIPER – Began awkwardly and was severely tightened for room and lost ground. Laid in in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out, resulting in its rider being forced to stop riding and straighten near the 100m. Raced wide.PONTY – Steadied from heels near the 150m. COURTING JOY – Laid in in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out. OUTBACK STORM – Raced wide without cover. ALLORIAN – Raced wide.RACE 2: CLIVE BERGHOFER CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1310M ROCK SPARK – Raced keenly in the early stages and after being caught wide was allowed to stride forward by its rider and obtained the lead position leaving the 800m. COOL RULES – Held up from the 400m until the early stages of the home straight. AGORA – Laid in under pressure in the straight. SCARLET POET – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 3: BLOOMING GORGEOUS BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1210M THE YOWIE – Declared a late scratching at 3.20pm on veterinary advice.VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. RACE 4: GDI PROPERTY GROUP F&M MARES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M RUNWAY ANGEL – Slow to begin.DIVA MISS - Slow to begin. Forced to steady to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m. After being caught wide in the early stages, was forced wider on the track by another runner passing the 800m and then raced 4 wide for the remainder of the race. PERFECTLY SWEET - Held up for clear running from the 500m until the 400m. MRS BOOLE - After being caught wide in the early stages, was forced wider on the track by another runner passing the 800m and then raced 4 wide for the remainder of the race. SNACK ON THE RUN – Momentarily steadied leaving the 400m when PERFECTLY SWEET shifted out to obtain clear running. LADY MERCURY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the event. BRILLIANT DIVA – On return to scale apprentice M. Murphy advised that after beginning well he obtained the leading position, as per the horse’s customary racing pattern. He added that the filly travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when asked to improve into the race from the 400m, failed to respond to his riding as he had expected and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. RACE 5: JOCKEY CELEBRATION DAY 6 AUG CG&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M I AM RESTLESS – Bumped heavily on jumping away and as a result lost ground. NEWCASTLE DANCER – Shifted in at the start, making heavy contact with another runner. Raced 3 wide from the 700m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out. Bumped near the 50m when shifting ground. SEQUASI – Slow to begin.SPINNAKER RUN – Bumped heavily on the hind quarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. I AM HERCULES – Improved onto heels and steadied near the 400m. Bumped near the 50m when shifting ground. DUBLING – Apprentice M. Murphy, rider of I AM HERCULES, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that when attempting to obtain a position closer to the rail near the 800m, he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of DUBLING, resulting in apprentice E. Ljung having to take hold of her mount to avoid the heels of I AM HERCULES. Apprentice Murphy was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 7 August and to expire at midnight, 15 August. RACE 6: TOOWOOMBA MOUNTAINEERS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1210M Correct weight was delayed to allow apprentice R. Williams and trainer B. Lunney to view the photo-finish print for 3rd. After viewing the print, they were satisfied with the Judge’s semaphored numbers. Correct weight was further delayed when stewards viewed the patrol video to determine whether there were grounds on behalf of the connections of the 2nd placegetter, REAL DYNAMITE, to lodge a protest against GULLY GOSH being declared the winner for interference in the home straight. After viewing the patrol footage, stewards were not satisfied, bearing in mind the margin between both horses, that any objection lodged would be successful and therefore elected not to proceed and declared correct weight.. GULLY GOSH – Jumped in the air at the start and lost considerable ground. REAL DYNAMITE – For some distance in the home straight was taken in and bumped on a number of occasions by GULLY GOSH, which shifted in under hard riding. Jockey G. Geran, rider of GULLY GOSH, was advised to exercise more care and further to stop riding and straighten sooner than he did on this occasion. ELITE FORCE – Stewards questioned jockey S. Bogenhuber regarding the disappointing performance of her mount. Jockey Bogenhuber advised that after being caught wide she was forced to do more work than she had anticipated in the early stages, nevertheless after travelling comfortably throughout the race was disappointed with the manner in which the horse finished the race off over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off fore leg. A swab sample was taken from the horse. Trainer Mr G. Cooling was advised that in light of the performance tonight ELITE FORCE horse would be sent for an immediate spell.
