NationStewards Secretary – P. Carey GENERAL As A. Denby was indisposed, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. Apprentice J. Woodhouse was fined $300 for failing to claim down to his riding weigh in Races 2, 4 and 6. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for his failure to claim down to his riding weight in Race 3. ______________________________ RACE 1: W-SALE HORSEWEAR CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M SPECTACULAR ROCK – Began awkwardly and was further hampered by another runner at the start and as a consequence lost ground. ROCK OF GLORY – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped another runner. NATIONAL TRAIL – After being caught wide in the early stages was ridden forward to obtain a leading position passing the 600m. I GOT TRIX – Raced wide throughout. RACE 2: HOT FM CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1200M TRUMP IT – Slow to begin. DRIVING WHEELS – Slow to begin. Forced wider on the track near the 550m by another runner. BLETCHY BOY – Commenced to race very keenly approaching and passing the 600m and had to be checked to avoid heels and as a result lost ground. DRINKING COCKTAILS – Laid out marginally over the concluding stages and brushed another runner. VINNIE LOVES ME – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and brushed another runner over the concluding stages. HABSBURG – Raced wide without cover. SIENNA SON – Jockey S. Bogenhuber was fined $100 for using her whip in 2 consecutive strides prior to the 100m. RACE 3: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1300M SEQUASI – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. SIENNA SON – Slow to begin. Held up from the 500m until 350m. TAIYOSHIN – After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 800m. TE RANGI – After being crossed near the 900m, commenced to overrace for a short distance. UNIQUE PEARL – Bumped by another runner near the 350m and was forced wider on the track. AMBER LIGHTS – When attempting to shift out to improve near the 350 clipped the heels of another runner and blundered. RACE 4: WELLCAMP AIRPORT MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M DANCE MOVES – Slow to begin. FUZZY MELON – Began awkwardly. MISS GEORGIANA – Forced to steadied near the 900m to avoid the heels of another runner. AGAPANTHA – After being crossed by another runner in the early stages of the event, commenced to race keenly for some distance and was steadied from heels. FIFTH STREET – Bumped and steadied near the 100m to avoid heels when taken out by PRIDE OF ASCOT, which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. HEART OF CORAL – Apprentice J. Woodhouse was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. RACE 5: SEDL AGENCIES CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1625M WHO’S NEXT – After becoming fractious, was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Trainers representative Ms C Watkins was advised that a warning was issued against WHO’S NEXT for its barrier manners. PERISHA – Slow to begin. RICH REWARD – Slow to begin. Apprentice J. Oliver was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. COMPANOLOGY – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages of the race. TELMEMORE – Apprentice T. Brooker was fined $200 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. RACE 6: XXXX GOLD CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1625M I AM THE WARRIOR – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. KEL’S SHADOW – Raced keenly in the early stages. EAT YOUR HEART OUT – Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward and take up the leading position near the 1100m. HIGHTOWER – When racing greenly near the 900m shifted out away from heels, forcing KEL’S SHADOW wider on the track. KEL’S SHADOW – Raced wide from the 900m. Apprentice J. Woodhouse dropped his whip near the 100m. RITZY BELLE – A post race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on. RACE 7: BRISBANE RIVERVIEW HOTEL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M REJUVENATE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly in the home straight. YOU’RE SO VAIN – Shifted in at the start and bumped LILLY’S JEWEL, forcing that runner onto ELEMENTARY QUEEN. LILLY’S JEWEL – Bumped at the start and forced inwards. ELEMENTARY QUEEN – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. READY SEQ GO – Brushed the running rail when racing keenly near the 1100m. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. CROSSING THE TEE – Raced wide from the 800m. AMERICAN FRONTIER – Bumped on a number of occasions near the 400m. Inclined to lay in in the early stages of the home straight.
