DON’TCRYARGENTINA – When questioned regarding the instructions afforded to apprentice B. Panya, trainer B. Azel advised that it was his intention to take up a forward position but not to the extent of leading by several lengths. Apprentice Panya stated that her mount began well and she rode forward to obtain the lead comfortably, however the horse commenced to overrace rounding the first turn near the 1300m, and whilst she made some effort to restrain and slow the tempo, the gelding had an inclination to overrace further and freewheeled in the lead. Stewards advised apprentice Panya that whilst making some effort to reduce the pace, she would be expected to show more effort to slow the pace in similar circumstances.

WOW FACTOR – Jockey N. Tomizawa was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

GRAN SABANA – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding in tonight’s event, jockey S. Bogenhuber advised that the gelding travelled in a reasonable position and when applied pressure passing the 600m to improve the horse was reluctant to quicken, and felt the gelding was disappointing in its finishing effort in the straight.
