Butterworth was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Stood flatfooted at the start and lost several lengths. LUCKY THREE SEVENS – Slow to begin. OUR CLARKY – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. DON’TCRYARGENTINA – When questioned regarding the instructions afforded to apprentice B. Panya, trainer B. Azel advised that it was his intention to take up a forward position but not to the extent of leading by several lengths. Apprentice Panya stated that her mount began well and she rode forward to obtain the lead comfortably, however the horse commenced to overrace rounding the first turn near the 1300m, and whilst she made some effort to restrain and slow the tempo, the gelding had an inclination to overrace further and freewheeled in the lead. Stewards advised apprentice Panya that whilst making some effort to reduce the pace, she would be expected to show more effort to slow the pace in similar circumstances. WOW FACTOR – Jockey N. Tomizawa was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. RACE 2: BURKE INDUSTRIES CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1200MDRINKING COCKTAILS – Trainer K. Kemp was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. On arrival at the track apprentice S. Lacy was examined by the ambulance officers after sustaining an injury at the Clifton races earlier today and cleared her to fulfil her engagement in this race. MINE WITH LIME – Slow into stride. BIG SONNY – Hung in for the majority of the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage. TRUMP IT – Had to be steadied approaching the winning post when placed awkwardly at the heels of BIG SONNY. PRINCE OF PEACE – Raced wide throughout without cover. Apprentice S. Lacy was examined by ambulance officers after riding in this race and subsequently was stood down from her remaining engagements. S. Lacy was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. RACE 3: EXPLORE PROPERTY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M SCRIPTS – Trainer J. Dann was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. CURRENT FIGURES – As jockey G. Geran was to be overweight, N. Thomas was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey Geran was fined $100. ROYAL BOUQUET – Slow to begin. THE EQUINE BOLT – Tightened for room shortly after the start between runners and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. KAPACHINO MISS – Raced wide in the early stages and then pushed forward to obtain a position outside the lead near the 600m. Following this race due to heavy rain the track rating was downgraded to a Soft 6. RACE 4: CRACKERJACK CHICKEN BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1300M KAYENTA – Slow to begin. KEMPELLY – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. SMOOTH TAKER – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. ON DEMAND – Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the race. RACE 5: ITHINK PROPERTY CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1100M PIRELLI PRINCESS – Raced 3 wide in the early stages before being forced wider by another runner passing the 600m.NUSKEE PARKER - Shifted wider on the track passing the 600m to improve its position. RACE 6: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD H'CAP – 1050M STARANTE – Trainer J. Smerdon was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. SWEET SODA POP – Began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with ATOUCHMORE. ATOUCHMORE – Bumped at start. Hampered between runners shortly after the start. Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event. STARANTE – Hampered between runners shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race. BAGUS – Bumped heavily shortly after the start. RACE 7: BLOOMING GORGEOUS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1625M TRIP TO RIO – Slow to begin.CROSSING THE TEE – Slow to begin.KITTY SOFTPAWS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. CROSSING THE TEE – Momentarily held up passing the 400m. I AM HERCULES – Raced 3 wide throughout. GRAN SABANA – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding in tonight’s event, jockey S. Bogenhuber advised that the gelding travelled in a reasonable position and when applied pressure passing the 600m to improve the horse was reluctant to quicken, and felt the gelding was disappointing in its finishing effort in the straight. She advised connections that, in her opinion, the gelding may have come to the end of its campaign. Trainer J. Crompton agreed with jockey Bogenhuber’s comments. Stewards noted the explanation.
