CANNY EXCEL – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

MASSIVE ATTACK – Raced keenly in the early stages.

Keal were both reminded of their obligations with respect to AR. 137(d) which relates to excessively slowing the speed of a race.

CREDIT CARD MISS – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 3: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES QTIS 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS MAIDEN HCAP – 1050M

BACK CHAT – Slow to begin. On return to scale, jockey G. Geran reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event. Steadied from the heels of PEDROS SHOW near the 500m and lost ground. Steadied from heels on two occasions approaching and passing the 400m.

PEDROS SHOW - Stewards accepted the explanation provided by Trainer C. Smith regarding the late declaration of T. Chambers as rider. Raced wide without cover throughout, and also raced greenly throughout.

SIDEREUS DISCORD – Began awkwardly.

Race 4: STRATHAYR CLASS 1 HCAP – 1050M

CHARLIES DUST – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.

NEW ALLIANCE – Dwelt as the start was effected, and was then bumped by another runner shortly after the start and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated.

EXPLOSIVE BELLE – On return to scale, jockey R. Williams could offer no tangible explanation for the mares disappointing performance.

MANDELA DREAMING – Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.

SAY CAVALLO – Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.

MOUNTAIN RETREAT – Began awkwardly. Hung in throughout the event, and compounded in the home straight, finishing tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. In the light of the mares performance tonight, Trainer B. Fitzgerald was advised that the horse will not be permitted to compete at a TAB venue until such time as a it establishes form at non-TAB events.

Race 5: PRO-CLEAR MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M

PROLETAIRE – Laid out rounding the home turn.

JONDY SHAMALA – Raced in restricted room for a short distance in the early stages of the event. Raced wide, and also raced greenly, throughout.

STASH THE SILVER – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. On return to scale, L. Tilley reported that his mount raced greenly, with its head in the air, for the majority of the event.

MARGOT – Stewards questioned Trainer B. Currie in relation to the tactics adopted on the filly, which appeared to settle further forward than at its most recent starts. Mr. Currie advised that the filly, which was having its first start for his stable, had missed the start at its previous two runs and, as a consequence, settled towards the rear of the field. Mr. Currie added that at the horses starts prior to this event, when beginning well, was able to obtain a more forward position. Mr. Currie therefore advised that, after beginning well, he was not surprised to see the filly obtain a forward position, particularly after being caught wide in the early stages. An examination by Stewards of the race footage of the horses most recent starts confirmed the horses recent racing pattern, and therefore Stewards noted the explanation.

Race 6: VANDERFIELD JOHN DEERE CLASS 1 HCAP – 1625M

SCANDALS – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

BONSEA – Steadied from heels near the 50m.
