Hodgson Race 1: SPACERACK SHELVING AND RACKING BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres OCTAVIAN – Began awkwardly. RHYME TIME – Jumped with its head in the air. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, Apprentice A. Jones advised that the mare was not suited to todays distance and In her opinion would benefit from racing over further ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. HARRYANDTHETIGER – Began awkwardly. Laid in when paced under pressure in the home straight. NORSE MYTHOLOGY – Raced in restricted room for a short distance at the 800m. WINTER RAIN – Raced in restricted room for a short distance at the 800m. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. PETITE ELLE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Race 2: TOOWOOMBA BATHROOM RENOVATIONS Class 1 Handicap 12metres DILC 'N' LEN – After being crossed approaching the 1000m, shifted out making contact with LITTLE NATURAL. Shifted out rounding the home turn resulting in MADAM OF THE HOUSE being crowded for room. Jockey J. Oliver was advised the exercise more care. I AM SUPERIOR – Jockey J. Morris was fined $200 under AR131(b) after failing to rider his mount out to the finish of the event. CHERNO ALPHA – Began awkwardly making contact with MADAM ON THE HOUSE. Hung in from the 800m. LITTLE NATURAL – Bumped by another runner to the inside approaching the 1000m. MADAM OF THE HOUSE – Began awkwardly making contact with CHERNO ALPHA. Steadied to avoid heels approaching the 900m when DULC ‘N’ LEN shifted in. Jockey J. Oliver (DULC’N’LEN) was reprimanded for carless riding under AR131(a). Crowded for room between runners when rounding the home turn. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. LA RAPIDE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: LAWTOOLS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1300 metres CHAMBERLAIN – Raced three wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages. KAPPY CINO – Weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, Apprentice I. Rabjones advised that the gelding was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages and as a result settled further forward than anticipated. She further added that the horse was inclined to change strides when rounding the home turn and in her opinion proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-fore leg. Trainer J. Crompton was advised the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing. ACCARDO – Began awkwardly. DRAGON PINS – Began awkwardly. At the 800m, was momentarily placed in restricted room and forced to ease when CHAMBERLAIN shifted in marginally. Apprentice D. McGillivray (CHAMBERLAIN) was advised to exercise more care. Laid in when paced under pressure in the home straight. BOOMI’S BUDDY – Began awkwardly. PETRALIA– Hung in for the majority. SIZZLING BABE – Slow to begin. Race 4: FISCHER PLASTIC PRODUCTS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 870 metres A GOOD CHANCE – Bumped by OPEN WAR leaving the 500m. REMEMBER MARY – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. FIVE SPINS – Hung out in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Bumped TOECANARGIE MAN approaching the 100m. Apprentice A. Jones could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. OPEN WAR – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 700m. Shifted out at the 500m. TOECANARGIE MAN – As Apprentice W. Peel had traffic difficulty on route to the course, she was subsequently replaced by Apprentice N. Fazackerley. Shifted in at the 100m after being bumped by FIVE SPINS which laid in despite the best efforts of its rider. INCITER – Began awkwardly. RUN THE CUTTER – Slow to begin. Race 5: THE GERRY BROWN MEMORIAL Maiden Handicap 1050 metres JONDY BARNABY– Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Shifted in approaching the 800m tightening runners to the inside. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. TAORMINA RHYTHM – Tightened for room at 750m and was forced to restrain. WAYNE’S GAMBLE – At a point leaving the 800m, was tightened for room, checked and lost ground when MISS JEDI was taken in by JONDI BARNANY. Apprentice I. Rabjones (JONDY BARNABY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at a approaching the 800m, she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MISS JEDI and WAYNE’S GAMBLE, resulting in MISS JEDI being taken in and WAYNE’S GAMBLE being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice Rabjones’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 30th October 2021 and to conclude midnight 10th November 2021. Apprentice Rabjones was advised of her right to an internal review. TISANI EMPEROR – Shifted in approaching the 750m tightening runners to the inside. MISS JEDI – Blundered on jumping. Taken in by a runner to the outside at the 800m. ACAPERA – Raced wide without cover throughout. DUCHESS BREE – Began awkwardly. Steadied when crossed by RAFFALLI leaving the 900m. Apprentice A. Jones (RAFFALLI) was advised to exercise more care. IN HAVANA – At a point leaving the 750m, tightened for room, checked, and forced inwards when TISANI EMPEROR shifted in. Apprentice M. Savva (TISANI EMPEROR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at a point approaching and leaving the 750m, she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of IN HAVANA and TAORMINA RHYTHM resulting in both runners being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice Savva’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence midnight 30th October 2021 and to conclude midnight 12th November 2021. In determining penalty stewards took into consideration apprentice Savva’s guilty plea, however, were unable to offer any further reduction due to her poor record. Race 6: RV SERVICE CENTRE TOOWOOMBA Class 3 Handicap 1650 metres READY’S GIRL – Upon returning to scale Jockey G. Cartwright advised that it was not her intention to lead, however as her mount began well, she allowed her mount to stride forward to obtain a position on the fence without being pressured and as a result lead for the majority of the event. TRACKMAN (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels near the 1300m and shifted out to obtain clear running. Raced three wide without cover for the remainder. Trainer T. Lambourn could offer no explanation for outwards market drift. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards ordered a post-race sample to be taken from the gelding. BOLTIN’ DESIRE – Brushed the running rail leaving the 900m. Race 7: EMMOVATIONS MEDIA PRODUCTION BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1880 metres BRACKEN – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Apprentice A. Jones was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m. PRINTMAKER – Began awkwardly. PATRICK’S ME MATE – Tightened for room on jumping. INDIAN RANI – As the mare raced at the Gatton race meeting on Thursday 21st October 2021, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination where it was subsequently passed fit to start. Tailed off from the 500m taking no further competitive part in the event. Stewards will advised trainer D. Groves that a warning will be placed on the mare and will follow up on the horses post-race recovery in the coming days. WINDUPGIRL – Jumped with its head in the air.
