1ST – STRYKING STUNNAH 2ND – SPECTACULAR ROCK 3RD – WORLD SERIES 4TH – HUSSY ROCKSTAR

The announcement of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to review the video footage of the start to determine whether FLIGHT TO GLORY, which failed to jump with the field, was afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage, it was established that FLIGHT TO GLORY was fractious in the barriers and struck jockey S. Bayliss with its head as the gates opened. As stewards were satisfied that the horse’s own barrier manners resulted in it missing the start, it was declared a runner and correct weight was given on the judge’s placings. Jockey Bayliss was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.

DRAGON MASTER – Slow to begin. Following the race jockey B. Appo fell ill and was transported to hospital. Jockey Appo was advised he will need to provide a medical clearance prior to riding again.

HARIIR – Apprentice B. Nothdurft was questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the middle stages, in which the mare led by a significant margin. Apprentice Nothdurft advised stewards his instructions were to lead, and after beginning poorly HARIIR travelled keenly and he did not have to pressure the mare unduly to obtain a leading position. He added that after obtaining a position outside the leader near the 800m his saddle shifted forward and as a result he struggled to restrain the mare from that point. Stewards noted the explanation.
