General
ELOQUENT BELLE was declared a late scratching at 10:00am after sustaining injuries to both hind legs when being transported to the track. Stewards permitted stablemate ADAYONDECK to be also declared a late scratching at 10:00am when trainer B Loakes indicated he would be returning to Gladstone to source veterinary treatment for ELOQUENT BELLE.  Mr Loakes was advised ELOQUENT BELLE would require a Veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.  
 
Race 1: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1100 Metres
 
SANJAY – raced wide throughout
 
ANAKYN DARAXES – raced wide throughout
 
Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE  1000 Metres
 
BRAYD HEART – when asked to comment on below market performance, rider P Romeo stated the gelding travelled well in the early stages of the event, however when placed under pressure leaving the 500 metres was quickly under pressure and failed to finish the race off as expected. Trainer S Smith stated the horse was first up today and, in his opinion, did not appreciate the sand surface. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
 
ECHELETTE – raced wide throughout
 
BOOTIFULBLUE – steadied from heels near 600 metres
 
MY HAPPY PLACE – laid in rounding 600 metre turn
 
SERIOUS SYMPHONY - slow to begin
 
 
Race 3: OPEN HDCP 1000 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when L Sears, stable representative for trainer of second placegetter NATIONAL TRAIL, viewed the photo-finish image for first. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.
 
CLOUDS – cast near-fore plate in running.
 
Race 4: BENCHMARK 50 HDCP 850 Metres
 
ELDIYM – App J Morrow was reprimanded for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres.
 
MONTE LAGO – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin.
 
LIL RUBY ROSE – raced wide throughout
 
Race 5: CLASS B HDCP 1465 Metres
 
 
HEEBEE RIGHT MATE – laid out rounding the 1200 metre turn and bumped HEIRSROC
 
SYNONYMS – jumped in at the start
 
ASCOT BOUND – hampered shortly after the start and lost ground
 
SUPERVISOR – shifted out abruptly under pressure near the 100 metres
 
HEIRSROC – became unbalanced and lost ground when bumped heavily rounding the 1200 metre turn. Raced wide in early and middle stages of the event.
 
LYON’S MATE – tightened on jumping away and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages of the event.
