Bookmakers V. Aspinall, R. E Crow and R. V Crow were fined $100 each under LR 85 (1)(c) in that they failed to display prices for Race 1 by the required time (one half hour prior to starting time).

Race 1: Yeppoon Panel and Paint Class B Handicap - 1800 metres

RISE TO FAME- When questioned regarding its scratching, trainer stated owners did not wish for the horse to race in today’s event and would now start at Rockhampton on 28/4.

ELEMENTAL BOY- A veterinary certificate of unfitness to race would be supplied.

CUPSTER- Began awkwardly.

Race 2: Keppel Bay Sailing Club Class 3 Plate - 1000 metres

ZALATED- The reason for the horse arriving late on course was accepted. Near 800 metres, lay out when racing to the inside of another runner, awkward on its heels and eased. Near 200 metres, shifted ground. Rider advised to exercise more care.

MISHANI CENTTURION- Slow to begin.

ROCKETTE ROCKET- Slow to begin, hung out from the 800 metres and raced wide without cover for the remainder.

KHAANTANTES- Observed to have bled from both nostrils on return to the enclosure. The gelding would now be barred for 3 months and must pass 1000m gallop prior to its next race start.

BEST HURRAH- Near the 200 metres, steadied for heels of another runner which shifted ground.

Race 3: N. R. G Industrial QTIS 2YO Handicap- 1100 metres

MINNIE ROCKET- Slow to begin and lost ground.

DRAGON ROCKET- Jumped out and made contact with another runner.

RAINBOW JILL- Contact at the start with another runner.

Race 4: G. J Gardner Homes Yeppoon Cup Open Handicap- 1400 metres

SANOSUKE- Slow to begin.

HOSTILE OWNERS- Slow to begin, raced wide without cover throughout.

NELAMOS- When questioned with regard to it leading in today’s event, rider stated that with no expected pace in the race, he was instructed to position the horse in a handy position behind the leaders and if necessary to obtain the lead.

MEADOW DREAMER- Near the 800 metres, when another runner improved to its inside, was placed three wide without cover. Near 300 metres, crowded between runners.

Race 5: The Strand Hotel BM 45 Handicap- 1200 metres

SOUL SERENADE- Declared a late scratching at 2.32pm when trainer advised of transport difficulties.

CHAIN THE GATE- Slow to begin and began awkwardly.

BIG BABA LOOEY- Slow into stride.

HOT LOVE HIGHWAY- Raced wide without cover throughout.
