Race 1: Regal Dental Maiden Plate 950m
 
Due to no available rider, EDGED IN LACE was a late scratching at 12:50pm.
 
CHRISSY’S SPIRIT – Slow to begin. Began awkwardly and shifted in onto EDGEROI GAMBLER. When corrected became awkward on the heels of GAI OF THE GALAXY. Raced greenly in the straight.
 
EDGEROI GAMBLER – Hampered at the start. Shifted ground in the straight.
 
GAI OF THE GALAXY – Lost a hind plate in running.
 
CLAPPIN STICK – Shifted ground in the straight.
 
CRAIGLEA PATIENCE – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
HIGH HUSSY – Shifted ground in the straight.
 
THE WEATHER GIRL – Laid in on occasions in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind. Trainer S Sigvart was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to its next race start. Stewards will seek a follow up report in the coming days.
 
Race 2: Yeppoon Sailing Club Class 2 Handicap 950m
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA- As start was effected, got its head down, began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
Race 3: Haymans Electrical Yeppoon Class B Handicap 1100m
 
THE CLANG AFFAIR – Stewards permitted Jockey A Butler to ride a half kilogram overweight. Near the 300 metres bumped on two occasions with NIGHTS ABLAZE and shortly after was tightened between CRAIGLEA CEON which rolled out and CAPTAIN ADRIATIC which had laid in.
 
TABITHA MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA CEON – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
NIGHTS ABLAZE – Held up in the early stages of the straight until the 100 metres.
 
 
Race 4: Elders Insurance & Financial QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1200m
 
DUAL PERSONALITY- Jumped awkwardly
 
CRAIGLEA RIO- Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.
 
MISS PRUDENCE- Raced wide throughout.
 
DREAM COMMANDER- Slow into stride. Placed under pressure shortly after the start, commenced to race ungenerously, pulled up and retired from the event. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed that the mare was lame in the hind and sore across the back. Trainer J Pointon was advised that the mare would require a vet certificate prior to racing again.
 
Race 5: G.J. Gardener Homes Yeppoon Newmarket Open Handicap 1300m
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, App. Q Krogh viewed the available patrol films in the straight regarding the whip use of jockey D Simmons on CLEAVER. After doing so, he established there was no breach of the rules and correct weight was declared.
 
CLEAVER – Slow to begin.
