Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Commenced to give ground abruptly from the 800m and finished significantly tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Nonetheless, given the circumstances in the manner in which the gelding gave ground, Stewards advised Trainer that the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to barrier trialling to Stewards’ satisfaction prior to racing again.
