When asked to explain gelding’s disappointing performance, apprentice T. Townsend stated that the horse was fractious prior to the start being effected, raced flat throughout and was very disappointing. Trainer R. Connolly advised that the horse may have come to the end of its preparation and that consideration will now be given to sending the gelding for a spell.
