Inconvenienced shortly after the start. When questioned regarding her tactics, in particular the reasons why she elected to race several lengths behind the body of the field, A. Badger stated that after being hampered at the start and losing ground, the gelding failed to muster sufficient speed despite her efforts. She added that despite settling further back than anticipated the gelding finished the race off reasonably. Stewards noted her comments.
