Slow to begin. When questioned, jockey A. Sewell explained that it was always his intention to allow the horse to settle in a rearward position as instructed and he would have preferred to have improved into the race prior to the home turn, however as runners ahead of him were racing wide on the track, he elected to wait until the home straight to allow the horse to shift wider in an attempt to finish the race off. He added that he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing performance and felt that it may be better suited on a bigger track.

Began awkwardly. Forced wider on the track passing the 400m when SHE’S UP BEAT shifted out to improve. V. Johnston reported that her mount felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed some slight muscle soreness. Trainer B. Dais advised that it may be his intention to send the filly for a spell.
