When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer explained that in the past the gelding had had issues with hoof abscesses, which necessitated farrier treatment. She said that she was satisfied that the horse had recovered from the ailment and a forward showing was expected today. She added that at the gelding's most recent start it failed to handle the rain affected track.
