After racing wide in the early stages, the gelding was forced wider on the track by another runner entering the home straight on the first occasion and, as a result, Apprentice R. Ride permitted her mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1400m. Hung out from the 600m and made the home turn wide.
