Jockey E. Ljung could offer no explanation for the mare’s disappointing performance today, and advised that it had failed to run on in the home straight as she had expected. The trainer’s representative, N. Hahn, advised that the stable is disappointed with the mare’s three runs since returning from a tendon injury and, in light of today’s performance, the stable will now consider its current preparation.

Slow to begin. On return to scale, jockey N. Tomizawa reported that the gelding was making an abnormal respiratory noise throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was exhibiting a poor post-race recovery. Trainer M. Callaghan advised that he will now consider the gelding’s racing future.
