Approaching 200m attempted to improve to the outside of heels and made contact with another runner on a number of occasions. Taken in near the 100m when improving to the inside of HARADA BAY and as a result made contact with another runner.

Near the 1300m commenced to overrace and when being restrained shifted out and raced 3 wide for the remainder. When rounding the home turn shifted out to obtain clear running and bumped ADORABEEL.

Rider could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance, other than the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation.

Bumped rounding home turn. Rider questioned re tactics adopted, particularly as to the reasons why she elected to improve when in a trailing position. Stated she allowed gelding to stride forward in an attempt to position outside the leader but was unable to do so when HI SON held its position, which resulted in her racing in a 3 wide position. Rider advised that in similar circumstances she would be expected to use more initiative than she had on this occasion.
