Commenced to buck shortly after the start and did so for a considerable distance, resulting in the mare taking no competitive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore shoulder. Trainer P. Butterworth was advised that the mare would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial, and a veterinary clearance must be produced prior before being permitted to start again.
