Apprentice M. McGillivray reported that the gelding raced three wide but with cover throughout, was off the bit and in his opinion raced flat. He said that rounding the home turn the horse was unable to quicken with the remainder of the field, however once placed under pressure in the straight, although it was inclined to lay in, it then finished the final 200m of the race off nicely. He added that he was of the opinion that the gelding may now be looking to be stepped up in distance.
