When asked as to why she remained racing 3 wide without cover when there appeared opportunity to restrain and race behind COLLARS UP, apprentice S. Lacy stated that the horses usual racing pattern is to race in front or up on the speed, and the mare has shown in the past to have a reluctance to being restrained as well as an inclination to choke down. She added that in the heavy going she was not overly concerned to maintain the position she did, however in hindsight conceded it may have been more advantageous to endeavour to restrain to find cover.
