Lunged forward prior to the start being effected, making contact with the front gate, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. S. Baster reported following the event that his mount, whilst forced to race wide without cover, never travelled well throughout and eased over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Co-trainer Mr A. Bott advised that after the gelding’s disappointing effort today, it may be spelled.
