Ljung was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that whilst riding along failed to take sufficient measures to prevent her mount from shifting in, crowding the running of HOLBROOK and ON SHOW, both of which had to be checked. Jockey E. Ljung was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 10 January and to expire at midnight, 21 January.

Jockey S. Doyle was asked to comment on the performance of the gelding. He indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event and was under heavy pressure approaching the 600m and proved disappointing in the run to the finish. A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of being extremely dehydrated.
