Eased out of the event over the concluding stages. J. Lloyd advised stewards that BLUE BOOK did not feel comfortable in its action in the home straight and for this reason he eased the horse down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the near foreleg. Trainer K. Doughty was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Blundered leaving the 1000m and was eased out of the event before dislodging jockey C. Williams. In this incident PLUMARO had to be severely checked to avoid MISCHIEVOUSMARILYN. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a fracture of the near foreleg and the horse was euthanased on humane grounds.
