Raced keenly from the 1600m until passing the 1400m. Near the 600m laid outwards and had to be eased off the heels of CLEVER BLAZE. Near the 500m was buffeted when racing tight between the CLEVER BLAZE and COURAGE WITHIN.

Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be not striding freely in front. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

Eased down from the 400m. The performance of the horse was considered unacceptable. Trainer P. Jenkins was advised that a metropolitan bar would be placed on the gelding. Mr Jenkins advised he would discuss with connections whether the horse would be retired from racing and would advise stewards accordingly if that was the case. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections were advised that the horse would be barred from racing in the metropolitan area until its form improved.
