Began awkwardly and shortly after brushed the running rail. Bumped and became unbalanced rounding home turn. Rider explanation re performance - gelding travelled comfortably but was left flatfooted when pace quickened from the 600m. Stated that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited racing over a further distance than that of today.
