After being a little slow to begin, then had to be eased when tightened for room soon after the start between LIMERICK MOON and QUEENOFTHEPIXIES, which was taken inwards by IGNITE THE LIGHT. Had to be steadied approaching the 500m when momentarily tightened for room by BRAINS. Held up for clear running from the 250m until near the 100m where the rider was obliged to alter course to the outside of the heels of PIERIDAE when that runner commenced to weaken.

Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and when attempting a narrow run to the inside of RISING STOCK near the 250m made heavy contact with the running rail, and then continued to be held up for the remainder of the home straight and went to the line not fully tested. Made contact with the hind quarters of ALASSAK near the 100m.
