Dais confirmed the instructions were to be further forward. He added that it is the gelding’s normal racing pattern to be ridden in a forward position, however it is preferred that it be ridden with cover.

Began awkwardly. Overraced between the 700m and 600m and had to be steadied away from the heels of LAST ARMAGEDDON. Held up approaching the home turn before attempting to shift out to improve and in doing so was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PIERIDAE before shifting out over the heels of that runner, and as a result I AM THE GENERAL was inconvenienced and carried wider, and HEARTS LIFTED, which was following, also was hampered and carried wider.
