Raced three wide throughout without cover. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding tactics adopted rider K Cowan stated instructions were to attempt to lead however when runners improved to her inside approaching the 800 metres she was caught racing three wide without cover. Stewards, in assessing the ride of apprentice Cowan, advised in future she should show greater flexibility as the race unfolds, and not become too tied down to instructions and thus afford her mounts the best opportunity to finish their race off.
