Approaching 1900m, momentarily steadied when in restricted room. Held up when awkwardly placed between runners after the 600m. When quest re performance, Rdr advised when pace increased at 800m, gelding was left flat footed-added approaching 600m, was awkwardly placed on heels & when asked for an effort shortly after, gelding was only one paced, however; finished off fairly over final 150m-further added approaching winning post, was mindful of movement of surrounding runners, as well as mount laying in, & due to these reasons, did not ride out with usual vigour. Post vet no abs.

Tnr stated gelding over raced, may consider some gear changes, however; intention to continue with preparation and would report back if anything came to light over ensuing days. A post-race vet exam revealed a slow recovery.
