Had to be checked inside the 100m when tiring. D. Tourneur, the rider of TAMBO'S HEART, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out near the 100m when not fully clear. At the same stage, MONO LAD shifted in slightly. J. Byrne, the rider of MONO LAD, immediately endeavoured to correct his mount. Rider M. Walker reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed fresh ulceration to the offside cheek.
