Raced wide without cover. Jockey L. Dittman reported at scale his mount blundered on jumping away and as a result the breast-plate broke and also his saddle shifted at this stage. He added he was then unable to restrain the colt and his mount was inclined to hang out and overrace. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near foreleg and had a slow recovery rate.
