Apprentice A. Fancourt explained that from the wide draw she was instructed to be positive on the gelding as in its first few starts it has been slow to muster speed. She said that whilst it was not the intention to lead, after riding hard in the early stages she was concerned that she was going to be caught at least four wide so for this reason made the decision to continue to press forward and eventually cross to the lead.
