Settled in a trailing position one wide in the early stages and after passing the 1200m, when the pace steadied, commenced to overrace and was shifted wider on the track to avoid heels and then continued to overrace for a considerable distance thereafter. Bumped on the hind quarters approaching the 800m.

Unable to obtain cover passing the 1200m due to the slow speed and when being restrained got its head up for a short distance before obtaining cover after passing the 900m. When asked to explain the performance, jockey B. Shinn stated that the filly raced keenly in the early stages due to the slow tempo which in his opinion may have been to its disadvantage, and when asked to finish the race off, let down for a short distance, however may have peaked on its run prior to the line.
