Rider questioned re riding tactics in particular leaving the 600m where he had an opportunity to improve to the inside of CABOCHON LIL and trail SWING SHIFT into the race explained that he was reluctant to improve into this run as he was of the view he was better suited trailing CABOCHON LIL, which was a more fancied runner than SWING SHIFT on the fence. Added apparent soon after straightening that CABOCHON LIL was not improving his position and as VIOLET shifted out and hampered his run elected to alter course to the outside. Explanation noted.
