Approaching the 200m, when weakening, had to be steadied off the heels of RED BLOOM who shifted in. When questioned regarding the poor performance, jockey R Fradd reported that his mount failed to handle the firm track. He added that LOT’S WIFE travelled well throughout, however, failed to respond when asked for an effort and went to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be striding slightly short in the off fore.
