When questioned regarding the horse’s perceived form improvement, trainer R. Lipp stated that at its first run in Toowoomba the horse raced ungenerously and wanted to hang out throughout the event. He noted that the horse pulled up from that event with some mild soreness and the horse was sent for a spell. Mr Lipp added that SUPERSONIC BOOM had won two jump-outs at Toowoomba prior to today’s event, and with the addition of blinkers today he expected a forward showing.

Steadied approaching the home turn and also tended to lay in over the final 300m. Apprentice R. Goldsbury reported that her mount raced greenly and hung in throughout.
