When questioned as to the disappointing performance, Jockey R Plumb stated that after travelling comfortably for the majority of the race, the gelding was then reluctant to improve when racing between runners before commencing to weaken rounding the home turn. He also added that the gelding may have been accidentally struck over the head by another rider’s whip. As he was of the view that something may have been amiss with the gelding he did not apply any more pressure to the gelding in the home straight. | $5 | |||
