Began very awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey M McGuren stated that his intention was to settle in a position closer to the speed, however, after beginning very awkwardly he was obliged to settle at the rear of the field. Nonetheless, he was disappointed in the gelding’s effort over the final 600m and was unable to offer any tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.
