Added after beginning from a wide barrier was unable to obtain a position with cover and therefore elected to improve forward to the outright lead. Stewards noted his explanation.

Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up rounding home turn and in early stages of home straight. Rider questioned re disappointing performance - stated after being slow to begin unable to obtain a forward position as intended. Added when pace slackened in middle stages near 800m obliged to race behind other runners and was unable to improve. Further stated after being held up approaching home turn was then able to obtain clear running over final 300m however the mare failed to quicken and found the line only fairly. Vetted - no significant findings.
