When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey Anthony Allen explained that his instructions were to lead and after being able to comply with his instructions, the filly was under pressure from the 600m and weakened noticeably in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained a laceration to the inside of the off hind cannon consistent with being galloped on.
