After being moderately away from wide barrier restrained with cover, however, unable to do so and restrained to a rearward position to obtain cover. After passing the 900m commenced to over-race and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions. G. Colless explained at its last start it raced more forward from inside barrier whereas today from wide barrier unable to hold a more forward position and in his opinion with track favouring horses racing in a forward position ridden back today may have been detrimental to geldings chances. Stewards noted the explanation.
