Tactics query - Rider R. Wiggins stated his instructions were to go forward at the start, however, after being slow to begin settled at the rear of the field. Leaving the 1600m, when the pace steadied then shifted wider on the track and progressed forward to obtain the lead near the 1200m. Stewards noted the explanation of R. Wiggins.

Near the 400m, checked to avoid the heels of THRUM which shifted out and away from SAVASPUR which had been carried out by MISHANI ROMANCE. Rider J. Taylor (THRUM) was advised to exercise far greater care in similar circumstances and in not taking more severe action Stewards took into account that his mount had laid in leading up to the incident before shifting out.
