Rider dropped his whip near the 150m. Hung in over the final 100m proving difficult to ride out before being checked over the concluding stages when placed in restricted room. Rider reported that the gelding had a good run throughout the event where it travelled comfortably throughout. Rider added that the gelding quickened for only a short distance and from the 200m had peaked on its run and, in his opinion, proved disappointing over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
