A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which jockey K Zechner reported felt short in its action over the final 100m revealed lameness in the heels of both fore legs. Connections were advised they would be required to obtain a veterinary certificate for the gelding prior to next racing.

Trainer J Smerdon reported that it is the intention for the gelding to be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Apprentice D McGillivray expressed disappointment in the performance of the gelding which he advised failed to quicken in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
