Steadied to avoid heels near the 500m. On returning to scale the filly appeared to suffer a suspected cardiac arrest, which proved fatal. In the incident rider J. Taylor was dislodged. Following procedures, blood and urine samples were collected from PELLONIA and the filly was transported to Gatton University Hospital for an in-depth post-mortem. In the circumstances J. Taylor did not weigh in for 3rd, however as stewards were satisfied that the horse had carried its allocated weight, correct weight was declared.
