Began awkwardly and made contact with the inside barrier partition. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, B. Stewart stated that he attempted to obtain the lead, however when runners to his inside improved, he was caught racing three wide, which on the heavy track he was content to do. He added that once rounding the home turn when he placed his mount under pressure it failed to respond and therefore he was inclined to desist with pressuring his mount for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
