Approaching home turn held up for clear running. Raced wide with cover throughout. Rider questioned re performance - stated from wide alley unable to push forward and be in a position on the speed, which it normally races, as he would have been caught very wide so elected to restrain to take up a trailing position. Added gelding ran home reasonably and in his opinion would be better suited over a further distance than that of todays event.
